The Sims 3 Showtime
So far, it would seem the entire pack revolves around two things,
1st- 4 New Skills/Careers and 2nd- Online Features.
-The 4 New Skills/Careers-
DJ: This seems strangely close to 'Mixologist' (from Late Night) in the way it works, just replace the bar with a booth, and different animations. Still this looks good.
Magician: This one looks quite good, Nothing much to say really other than that it looks like a lot of fun.
Performer: Of the few features of this careers seen so far it looks good, and assuming its more than just fire rings and ball balancing, then I approve.
Singing: This looks excellent, what looks like karaoke and also the animations of the singers, just excellent. Hopefully they have made it so that a singer can join a band.
-The Online Features-
These include Simport and the expanded sharing of in game achievements (Expansion of the 'memories' system introduced with generations).
These features appear to be the kind that most of us simmers will use once and then forget about.
The notion that our sims can travel between simmers games, while our sims can't travel between neighborhoods within our own games is stupid. A more suitable function of something with the name Simport, should have been the inter-neighborhood travel.
-Conclusion-
The 4 New Skills/Careers while individually good all belonged in Late Night in the first place, and an expansion pack cannot be built around 4 things that are not overly unique and would be better suited as added features in a patch for Late Night.
The Online functions are, in my opinion, silly and will be used only once before the novelty wears off.
This EP can only be redeemed now, if it turns out to have a well created slow dancing interaction. Likelihood of this happening = 4/4600
